はじめに

ジオザッパーは、ジオタグ(位置情報)を含めて色々なExif情報のない新しいデジタル画像を作成し、プライバシーを強化するアプリです。

便利ですが、危険も伴うExif情報！！

iPhones と iPod TouchのデジカメにGPS機能が付いていたりします。デジタル画像に GPSを利用して、ジオタグを画像内のExif領域に格納します。実際、ジオタグだけではなく、使用したカメラのメーカーとモデル、日付、焦点距離、撮影日まで、色々な詳しいデータも画像ファイルのExif領域埋め込まっています。

使用者自身には写真データにGPSのジオタグが入っていると結構便利なシーンが沢山ありますが、こうした便利さの一方で、ネットで公開する写真にExif情報が付いていることには個人情報漏洩の危険でも伴います。どの日どこからどこへ移動してここで撮影して、ということが画像の内容と撮影日時から確定できてしまうのです。ブログやツイッターなど様々ネット交流活動が頻繁に起こる現代社会の中に、単なる自分の写真を見せたいだけで、余計な情報を漏れる場合も沢山あります。

具体的な例として、iPhones と iPod Touchのカメラで撮影するとGPS情報が埋め込まれ、食事の記録としてお皿をアップで撮っただけのつもりでも、ネットで公開した写真には位置情報まで知らせてしまうことであります。こうした個人情報の流出が深刻化し、ネットを通じて特定の人物につきまとう等のストーカー行為による犯罪も増加しています。
